Think of us as your primary care physician for your career well-being.
Careers are a big part of what makes our life meaningful in addition to our relationships, and our overall health and well-being. We spend more waking hours on our careers (either studying, working, or just planning) than on any other category as careers give us not just meaning and a sense of identity but also financial stability.
Our view as a society on careers has evolved. Careers have changed from being primarily familial, inter-generational, trade-based, sustaining to being more individualized, contract-based employment. The tenure of careers has become even shorter. A couple generations ago, people might have stayed with the same company for their entire working life but today, people change jobs more frequently or even have multiple jobs (think “gig economy”). These inter-generational differences are a reflection of macroeconomic factors such as the rise of the middle class and rapid growth of technology. Gen Z today is known for not just wanting but for even going after more flexible and purpose-driven work. Therefore, career paths today are more squiggly versus linear. In a world where you could be a digital nomad and a social media influencer and a social activist all together, navigating career choices has never been more difficult.
